Our unique setting, along with our experience and dedication to performing excellent quality research sets us a level above all others. We offer a multi-tiered approach to effectively recruiting participants into our clinical trials.

The CTC boasts a highly integrated team of grants and contracts managers and affiliated research staff which includes several personnel jointly hired by other specialties and centers, which is a testament to the CTCs focus on interdisciplinary collaboration. The CTC is supported by clinical study assistants, a team of experienced research coordinators, a laboratory specialist who specializes in the banking of biological specimens, contracts and administrative personnel, several postdoctoral researchers, a data manager and a biostatistician. The CTC includes research professionals with extensive experience in basic science, clinical research, and translational research. In addition, departmental researchers continue to participate in interdisciplinary teams across medical specialties, supporting the University of Cincinnati’s overall research mission both at the investigational, regulatory, and administrative levels.

The Research Division is currently active at two clinical sites: University Hospital, and Jewish Hospital. Our patients come from diverse areas. Of the 2.1 million persons in the metropolitan statistical area, the local county has a population of over 800,000 that is about 25% black, 72% white and 1.5% Latino. Patients enrolled in our clinical research represent a broad spectrum from across the Greater Cincinnati region. We are actively recruiting patients for clinical trials in heart failure, allergy, and infectious diseases. We also have an extensive portfolio of NIH funded grants looking at such areas as neurovascular emergencies, heart failure stratification, and HIV surveillance. We have urban diversity with suburban possibilities.
